What is meditation?

Meditation is the first step in a journey of self-discovery. It is a way of focusing the mind and stilling the endless mental chatter that saps our energy and creates stress. Meditation is a practical aid to inner growth and positive personal development and a powerful tool to help create balance in our lives. It will allow you to access inner knowledge and help you create the life you want. Used as a personal growth device, it nurtures a more positive attitude towards life at large. Meditation is a transforming process that can ultimately reach into every aspect of our lives.

Several types of meditation classes are offered at the Sonesha Academy:

Chanting Meditation

Every Sunday evening at 6pm

Through chanting, there is a clearing of consciousness, peace of mind, and relief from unwanted drives and habits. As realisation is experienced through chanting, we observe the spiritual existence of the self. We can attain the benefits of chanting by embracing the process of mantra meditation and applying it holistically.

Sonesha Meditation Classes

Classes available mornings, afternoons and evenings.

Sonette believes meditation is universal and that the benefits should be accessible and enjoyed by people from all walks of life and backgrounds, regardless of health, fitness or age. As a result of this Sonesha Meditation was born and is still evolving today. Designed to teach those who want a more comprehensive and thorough grounding in a wide range of meditation practices and skills. This course combines theory and practice making it ideal for those who want more in-depth knowledge and practice. Over decades of practicing different meditation techniques, Sonette found that there was always something missing from different styles in order to make it a total practice or that you had to have a particular religious background in order to get the total benefit from particular meditation techniques.

Experience total rest and relaxation whilst you are being guided on meditative journeys to discover who you truly are. Enjoy the nurturing of a positive attitude through your senses of feeling, hearing and visualising and awake refreshed to peace, happiness, emotional balance and wellbeing.
